Nicholas (Nick) Bolyard was originally from Jamestown, NY until relocating to West Virginia as a child, where he has lived ever since. Bolyard attended Marshall University in Huntington, WV from 2006 to 2010 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Marketing. He returned to North Central West Virginia and completed an AAS at Pierpont CTC in Computer Information Systems in 2016. Later, he earned a Master of Arts in Game Design from West Virginia University in 2025.

Professionally, he has worked in professional information technology roles since 2018. Currently, he is a professional technologist at WVU’s Statler College of Engineering since 2021. He is responsible for Apple device administration, classroom technology, and creating technical documentation and processes. In gaming, he produced and published his own title called ‘The Nomad’s Curse’ as his thesis in the WVU Game Design Program. For that project, he self-developed several game engine plugins for RPG Maker, including the first ‘Konami Code’ Plugin for desktop and mobile use and a way to allow button press sequences to unlock features and functions in-game, using JavaScript. Bolyard worked on quality assurance for the 2026 release of psychological horror game Project Songbird, by Fyre Games. He is currently working on his own independent projects. Aside from game design, he has been doing web design and administration for local businesses since 2014.
