The WVU Youth Acting Academy offers high-quality theatre training for kids and teens in a supportive, creative environment. Led by WVU Theatre Dance faculty with support from WVU theatre students, our programs are designed to build confidence, creativity, collaboration, and performance skills—whether your child is brand new to acting or eager to grow their experience.
Ages: 8–17
*No prior theatre experience required
Day: Saturdays
Time: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Step into the audition room with confidence! WVU's Youth Acting Academy returns this fall with an eight-week Audition bootcamp designed for young performers ages 8–17. Through acting exercises, improvisation, voice and movement work, and practical audition training, students will explore what it takes to audition for theatre, film/TV, and commercials. Participants will learn how to approach audition material, make strong acting choices, take direction, work on camera, and bring their own personality into the audition room. Throughout the program, students will work toward preparing audition-ready material, including a monologue and an on-camera self-tape, while building confidence, creativity, and performance skills in a supportive and energetic environment.
