The Daily Athenaeum

The DA is a student-run 24/7 digital-first media organization that includes print, online, video and podcasting.

The DA is proud of its role as a watchdog for the WVU community and of the generations of students who have honed journalistic, business and leadership skills at the DA.

The Daily Athenaeum is independent of the WVU Reed College of Media and hires students from all majors at the university, but many Media students find a home there. On Mondays, 15,200 copies of the DA are distributed on campus and inserted in the Dominion Post in Monongalia and Preston counties. The Thursday edition of the DA is distributed to 130 locations around Morgantown and has a pick-up rate of 90%. During the academic year, theDAonline.com has more than 4,500 visitors daily.

Join The DA

You don't have to be a journalism student to work at the DA. And the skills you hone there will help you in any career you decide to pursue. Outside professionals lead training and provide valuable critiques. The DA hires students to work in a variety of positions including reporters, editors, designers, advertising reps and photographers. Students report on news, sports, culture and more.
