Eric Winkfield
Eric M. Winkfield is the Vice President Group Manager at M Booth & M Booth Health, where he serves as a senior counselor in the corporate communications practice and the agency's head of Diversity Equity and Inclusion. He leads with a vision for driving meaningful change through data-driven strategies and bold leadership. With expertise spanning financial services, CPG, healthcare, fintech, and government, Eric is known for delivering innovative solutions that not only meet client goals but elevate them. His passion for building and leading high-performing, inclusive teams has been key to his success in generating impactful results and substantial growth.
As the inaugural DE&I leader at M Booth and M Booth Health, Eric has been a trailblazer in shaping the agency’s internal strategy and guiding clients toward more inclusive practices. His leadership has significantly increased diversity within the company, built training programs that empower staff, and launched a career sponsorship initiative for diverse talent. These efforts have not only strengthened the agency’s culture but earned it accolades as one of the "Best Places to Work."
Prior to M Booth, Eric made his mark at Pepco, where he led critical marketing communications, community outreach, corporate giving, and government relations efforts. His work in securing regulatory approval for major projects and enhancing the company’s reputation through strategic communications was instrumental in advancing key initiatives.
Eric holds a master’s in integrated marketing communications from West Virginia University and a bachelor’s in public relations from Florida A&M University. Beyond his professional success, Eric is deeply committed to giving back. As a proud brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and through his roles at WVU’s College of Creative Arts and Media and the Plank Center for Leadership in PR, he actively contributes to the advancement of the next generation of leaders.
Recognized for his impact, Eric has received the Distinguished Communicator of Color award and the Emerging Leader of the Year Award from the Plank Center. He remains sharply focused on inspiring others and making meaningful contributions that lead to a more inclusive and innovative future in communications.
