Part of our mission at the WVU College of Creative Arts and Media is to provide our students and our larger Morgantown community with opportunities to experience the arts, which have the power to enrich our lives, broaden our perspectives and enhance the educational experience.
It's incredibly rare for ticket sales to cover all the expenses associated with presenting world-class artists—particularly in a smaller market like ours and with financial accessibility for our community top-of-mind.
The artists in our lineup this year are the same artists and the same productions that will be featured in some of the largest venues around the country in some of the biggest cities with the best arts reputations. In Morgantown, we bring these shows to you in an intimate 1,400-seat theatre, which limits ticket inventory and caps the potential ticket revenue.
When the curtain rises, it's very likely that a young West Virginian in the audience is seeing their first nationally touring Broadway production or hearing their first symphony in concert.
