Alessandra Noli Peschiera
Alessandra Noli Peschiera, Ph.D., is the Harrison Omnicom Assistant Professor in Advertising at West Virginia University’s Reed School of Media and Communications. Her research focuses on representations of caregiving in advertising and media, with particular attention to how these portrayals reinforce, challenge, and reshape social norms, family roles, and expectations surrounding care work. Additional research interests include Hispanic and multicultural marketing, cultural identity, and representation in strategic communication. Her scholarship has appeared in the Journal of Cultural Marketing Strategy, the Journal of Marketing Development and Competitiveness, and the Economicus Journal of Business and Economics Insights.
Before joining West Virginia University, Dr. Noli Peschiera served as Associate Director of the Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication at Florida State University, where she taught courses in Hispanic marketing communication, public speaking, and online communication. Her teaching and service have received multiple honors, including Outstanding Doctoral Teaching Assistant Award, Graduate Student Academic Leadership Award, and Extraordinary Service Award.
Dr. Noli Peschiera earned her Ph.D. in Communication Theory and Research, M.A. in Integrated Marketing Communication, and B.A. in Public Relations and Creative Writing from Florida State University. Before entering academia, she worked in public relations, marketing and social media strategy, and international development, including consulting work with the Inter American Development Bank.
