Angela Munroe
Angela Munroe is currently an Assistant Professor of Music Education at West Virginia University where she teaches General Music Methods, Introduction to Music Education, and Student Teaching Seminar. Her educational background includes a Ph.D. in Music Education from the University of Colorado Boulder, a Master’s in Music Education from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science in Music and Elementary Education from Western Michigan University. She has ten years of K-8 teaching experience in Colorado, Illinois, and Michigan. Her teaching experience includes preschool through eighth grade general music as well as instrumental and vocal music. Angela’s research interests include preservice and inservice music teacher development as well as approaches to teaching general music. Her dissertation focused on the mentoring dialogues between music cooperating teachers and their student teachers. Publications appear in Visions of Research in Music Education, Contributions to Music Education, Journal of Historical Research in Music Education, and General Music Today. She has also presented her research at national and state level conferences including the Society for Music Teacher Education, West Virginia Music Educator’s Association, and Mountain Lake Colloquium.
