Dan McCoy

Audio Supervisor
College of Creative Arts and Media

Dan McCoy is the Audio Supervisor for the College of Creative Arts and Media. His technical work leverages creative problem solving to assess and meet audio needs across CCAM events and venues, connecting touring arts professionals, WVU faculty and staff, and community audiences with a focus on student development.

Dan received his Bachelor of Arts in Production Studies in Performing Arts - Audio Engineering and his Masters of Fine Arts in Digital Production Arts, both from Clemson University. Beginning in a work-study role mixing bands for the University Union and ending as the first Recording Studio Grad Assistant, Dan worked for the university throughout his time as a student. Upon graduation, Dan worked as Audio Lead for Clemson’s Brooks Center for the Performing Arts.
In 2014, Dan won an audition for the United States Air Force Regional Bands. After Basic Military Training in San Antonio, TX, he served as Audio Engineer for the USAF Band of Mid-America at Scott AFB, IL, the AFCENT Band at Al Udeid AB, Qatar, the SHAPE International Band in Mons, Belgium - also known as the NATO Jazz Orchestra - and the USAF Heritage of America Band at Langley AFB, VA.

In his free time, Dan enjoys photography, working on cars, building computers, and continuing to learn new skills in digital development, especially in the growing field of interactive and spatial audio. He’s happy to be in beautiful Morgantown, and he's a proud dad to two wonderful daughters.
