Deborah Baxtrom
Deborah Baxtrom is originally from Wisconsin but relocated to Los Angeles after receiving her MFA in Film Screenwriting/Directing at Columbia University in New York, NY. She received her BA in Communication from Southern Adventist University in Tennessee.
Baxtrom currently develops curriculum and teaches for West Virginia University. Her courses include Game Theory, Acting for Animation and Games, and Screenwriting for Games. She previously taught Media Arts for Los Angeles Valley College and the Art Institute.
Professionally, she wrote the game script for “Clue Syndicate 3,” and her original feature film screenplay, “Mary’s Monster,” is in pre-production with Fulwell 73 and Rose Pictures. She also wrote and directed the short film “Ethel’s Sofa,” featured in over 30 film festivals worldwide, and wrote and directed the web series “Living with Frankenstein.”
In addition, she is the author of the book, You Can Make a Short Film with Your Digital Camera.
