Emily Lambert
Emily Dugas Lambert, M.M., MT-BC is an assistant professor of music therapy and currently serves as the Director of Music Therapy at WVU. Ms. Lambert teaches Introduction to Music Therapy, Principles and Practices of Music Therapy, Advanced Principles and Practices of Music Therapy, and Evidence Based Practice in Music Therapy while also supervising music therapy practicum students.
Previously, Ms. Lambert practiced clinically for over 10 years in Minnesota, Miami, Michigan, and the Orlando area. Her clinical experiences include working with clients aged 18 months to 103 years with a variety of needs including those recovering from TBI, older adults, and children and adolescents on the autism spectrum, amongst many others. She completed her Ph.D. coursework from the University of Miami (FL) and is currently working on her dissertation with a focus on music preference and digital accessibility. Ms. Lambert completed her music therapy equivalency work at the University of Georgia and also earned her M.M. in Music Therapy and B.M. in Music Engineering from the University of Miami. Her research and presentation interests include the interaction of music and rhythm with human neurological systems, creating equity for both music therapists and service users, and music therapy education. Ms. Lambert has presented at American Music Therapy Association national conferences.
