Jamie Whoolery

Assistant Dean of Production, Presentation, Operations, and Cultural Engagement

Jamie Whoolery is the Assistant Dean of Production, Presentation, Operations and Cultural Engagement for the College of Creative Arts and Media. In his new role for CCAM, Whoolery will lead the team responsible for maintaining the facilities and resources that serve our students and faculty in the creation of their art and media content. Additionally, he is tasked with connecting our arts and media product to our audience in the community.

Most recently, he served for eight years as Director of Production and Facilities for the College of Creative Arts, overseeing programs including the Canady Chamber Series and the Creativity Academy, a series of weekday matinee performances for area school children.

After graduating from WVU in 2004 with degrees in Public Relations and Design and Technical Theatre, Whoolery began his career in small, professional theatre in the Boston area receiving the Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Design for a Small/Midsize Company in recognition of his work as projection designer for The Clean House at New Repertory Theatre in Watertown, Massachusettes.

From there, Whoolery held positions at Clemson University's Brooks Center for the Performing Arts and James Madison University's Forbes Center for the Performing Arts before returning to his alma mater in 2015. He holds a Graduate Certificate in Arts Leadership and Cultural Management from the University of Connecticut.
