Jeffrey Moser
Jeffrey Moser was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and received his BA in Philosophy from Millersville University and his MFA from the University of Delaware. He has taught photography, visual literacy and culture, and interactive design in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Nebraska and is currently an Assistant Professor and coordinator of the Interactive Design for Media program at West Virginia University.
His research includes the creation of three visual databases of light rhythm and color sequence in films, video games, and music videos. The databases contain over 6,000 entries which display every frame of a video simultaneously, creating a colored timeline of the film, video game, or music video. Hosted on the WVU Research Repository, the database is accessed by academic researchers, artists, filmmakers, gamers, and film buffs from around the world, totaling over 15,000 downloads. Moser's video work has been included on ACRE TV, in the Miroslav Kraljevic Gallery in Zagreb, Croatia, screened at the National Gallery as part of the 32nd Black Maria Film Festival, featured at the Anchorage Museum Planetarium in Alaska and the Delaware Art Museum, and most recently took 3rd prize at the Contemporary Southern exhibition at VAE Raleigh in North Carolina. He has had solo exhibitions at the Philips Museum at Franklin and Marshal College and the Betty Foy Sanders Gallery at Georgia Southern University.
