Jim Iovino is the Ogden Visiting Professor in the Reed School of Media and Communications of the College of Creative Arts and Media.

Iovino is an award-winning media professional with more than 30 years of journalism experience, including leadership roles in newspaper, television, and online organizations. 

He has served as a reporter and editor, and has worked on the operational side of news organizations, including Scripps, NBC Universal and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, which was awarded the 2019 Pulitzer Prize in Breaking News Reporting during his tenure. He has coached and trained journalists, most recently through the Scripps Journalism Journey Initiative, and has developed innovation efforts across multiple platforms.

Iovino’s previous work at WVU helped launch the Media Solutions and Innovation program, which led to the creation of multiple news organizations across the country, including Black By God: The West Virginian, Arizona Luminaria, The Riverside Record and The Diversity Pledge Institute.
