Kelly Buchanan
Kelly Buchanan, M.S.M., APR, is a communications and marketing leader with nearly 20 years of experience, most of which are in the agriculture and transportation industries. She is the founder of Oak Alley Concepts (2023), a consultancy serving grain and transportation companies, cooperatives, crop insurance firms, and related organizations.
Before launching her firm, Kelly served as Director of Marketing for a leading grain and transportation company, directing integrated marketing across food, feed, and transportation business lines. She has led internal communications for large, multi-location organizations and developed communication strategies for major growth and change efforts, including multi-million-dollar mergers and acquisitions. She also chairs the National Grain and Feed Association’s inaugural Communications, Marketing, and Membership Committee, guiding initiatives that strengthen member engagement and industry alignment.
Kelly holds a M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University and a B.A. in Public Relations and Advertising from the University of Southern Indiana. She is Accredited in Public Relations (APR) through the Universal Accreditation Board, mentors professionals pursuing APR, and is active in PRSA. She also holds a Women in Leadership certificate from the University of Notre Dame.
Originally from the Midwest, Kelly now lives in Southern Louisiana just outside New Orleans with her husband and three daughters. In her PR courses, Kelly brings a practical, real-world focus that helps students build skills, find their voice, and grow confident in their potential.
