Executive Director, WVU Health Sciences Office of Research and Graduate Education

Nicole Beason currently holds the position of executive director for the WVU Health Sciences Office of Research and Graduate Education. In this role, she provides vision, leadership and support for student enrollment efforts. She creates and implements strategic recruitment and enrollment plans utilizing data and best practices as well as leads university-wide initiatives to achieve diversity, equity and inclusion recruitment and retention goals. Preceding this leadership role, she served as the Associate Director for Research Infrastructure. In this role, she designed, implemented, and optimized multi-channel programs to build brand awareness, engagement, and advocacy for the research and graduate education mission at the WVU Health Sciences Center.

Before joining the Office of Research and Graduate Education, Beason served as the Marketing Manager for the WVU Reed College of Media’s online programs. She led the strategic marketing efforts for the online programs as well as planned and executed the INTEGRATE conference – a conference for integrated marketing communications professionals in Morgantown, DC, and Chicago. Beason has worked as an adjunct instructor with the WVU College of Creative Arts and Media since 2015. She holds an M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications (2017), an M.A. in Elementary Education (2010) and a B.A. in Multidisciplinary Studies (2007), all from West Virginia University.

Beason is the President of the University Chapter of the WVU Alumni Association. She is also a member of the Association of National Advertisers and the Public Relations Society of America. She volunteers her time advocating for non-profit organizations such as the Bodice Project and the Lungevity Foundation.
