Rebecca Kreider
Soprano, Rebecca Abram Kreider, has sung leading roles with opera companies throughout the United States including the Washington Opera at Kennedy Center, Opera Theatre of St.. Louis, Palm Beach Opera, and Spoleto Festival. She received the Opera Theatre of St. Louis Richard Gaddes Award where she served as Artist-in-Residence for two years. Her operatic repertoire includes Gilda in Rigoletto, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, and Adele in Die Fledermaus.
Some of Ms. Kreider’s concert and oratorio performances include Beethoven’s Christus am Ölberge with the Indianapolis Symphony under the direction of Raymond Leppard, the Mahler 2nd and Beethoven 9th with the Las Vegas Philharmonic, and the Mozart Requiem and Exsultate Jubilate with the Bach Society of St. Louis. Numerous recitals with the Opera Theatre of St. Louis were broadcast regionally. Her operatic and concert performances have been to critical acclaim internationally in The New Yorker Magazine, The New York Times, The London Times, and The Washington Post.
Ms. Kreider has taught voice and opera at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, Northern Kentucky University, and Western Illinois University. Throughout her teaching career she has produced and directed numerous operas, including Le Nozze di Figaro, Cosi fan tutte, Hansel and Gretel, and Die Fledermaus. At UNLV in Nevada and at WIU in Illinois she established Opera-On-Wheels, an outreach program which tours to schools within the region.
Ms. Kreider received her Master of Music from Indiana University, Bloomington, where she studied under Margaret Harshaw and served as an Assistant Instructor of Voice. She received the Bachelor of Music from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ.
