Shelby Garrett
“I'm thrilled to be back at my home among the hills!”
Shelby Garrett (she/her) is an actor, director, improviser, and yogi with national stage and screen experience. She holds a BFA from Wright State University and an MFA from West Virginia University, with training in Meisner, Fitzmaurice Voicework®, Musical Theatre, yoga, and Viewpoints. Shelby has performed and coached improv and stand-up comedy at Improv Olympics Chicago, Second City Chicago, and Steel City Improv in Pittsburgh. Her previous teaching credits include positions at West Liberty University, Wheeling University, and three years at West Virginia’s Governor’s School for the Arts.
Shelby has participated in several productions, including the national tour of Girl’s Night: The Musical, Miss Julie with Pittsburgh International Classic Theatre, as well as performances at West Virginia Public Theatre and various regional theatres in Chicago. Her university experience includes roles in Indecent, Carrie: The Musical, Measure for Measure, and The Skriker. Her on-screen credits include Chicago PD and Swan Song (Magnolia Pictures). Shelby has directed productions such as The Drowsy Chaperone, SpongeBob: The Musical, Nunsense, and The Addams Family.
