
Steven Neuenschwander

Prof. Neuenschwander has been with the School of Theatre & Dance since 2009 where he serves as the faculty Technical Director & Head of Design and Technology. He is an ETCP recognized Certified Rigger in Theatre and co-wrote the USITT Technical Production Commission’s Recommended Graphic Practices. Prof. Neuenschwander also works for Sapsis Rigging, Inc. performing rigging inspections. Prior to joining WVU, he worked for Sunbelt Scenic Studios an events and themed design company where he served as the Senior Project Administrator.
Prof. Neuenschwander received his M.F.A. in Technical Design and Production from the Yale School of Drama in New Haven, CT. While attending Yale, he worked for ShowMotion Inc., a commercial scene shop building productions for Broadway and National Tours. He then worked as the Scenic Studio Supervisor/ Facilities Manager for the Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Texas at Arlington. Prof. Neuenschwander also served as an independent contractor for a themed casino installation and drafter for a theatre consulting firm. He received his B.F.A. from the University of Arizona with an emphasis in Technical Direction and is a member of USITT.
