Susan Gaide
Susan Gaide is a marketing/public relations/branding consultant for the music, entertainment and sonic branding industries. During 41-year career, she has held leadership positions in music publishing, public relations, marketing and branding firms, has provided strategic direction and support for Sony Electronics, Fairlight USA, JBL Professional, AKG Acoustics, Fostex, Soundcraft and SRS Labs and has served as the architect of the Entertainment Media Promotion minor at West Virginia University’s Reed College of Media, where she continues to instruct the courses she designed. She currently serves as president and chief brand strategist for ChromeOrange Music and ChromeOrange Media.
Gaide’s career in higher education began in 1984, when she authored the associate degree music business program at Five Towns College in Dix Hills, Long Island, and in 1990 expanded it to a four-year baccalaureate program. In that same year, she was awarded honorary faculty membership in the college’s Eta chapter of Phi Sigma. In 2012, she developed an entertainment industry management concentration for the college’s new Master of Fine Arts degree program and was subsequently promoted to the rank of Full Professor. Gaide also designed an online social media marketing course for University of California – Berkeley Extension in 2009, and, since 2001, has instructed Seminar in Business (capstone course), which she redesigned in 2021 for DeVoe School of Business at Indiana Wesleyan University.
A published business writer, Gaide’s articles have graced the pages of Mix, Pro Sound News, Pro AV and regional Chart Publishing B2B publications such as Marketeer, Spotlight on Business and Viewpoint. In the field of online distance higher education, she has been published numerous times in Magna Publications.
Gaide earned a bachelor’s degree in Music Merchandising from Hofstra University in 1982 and an MBA from Adelphi University in 1990.
