Alexis Behrens
Alexis Behrens, NCIDQ Alexis Behrens, a West Virginia native, joined Mills Group as the Director of Interior Design in January 2020. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from WVU & brings nearly three decades of interior design experience specializing in construction project management of various healthcare, office, behavior health, hospitality and day care spaces. With each project, Alexis strives to make each space warm and welcoming for each person. Professionally she is most proud of her two years spent as the Chairman of the NCIDQ Practicum Committee and her years as one of the 8-person committee that wrote several of the Interior Design Qualifying exams. Outside of the office, Alexis enjoys travelling, hiking, scouting and drawing. She lives in Bridgeport, WV with her husband Bill of 33 years and has 2 children; Inez and Will, both currently WVU students. She has also been involved in Scouting America as the Venturing Crew 14 Advisor, and Troop 14 Committee Chair. She currently serves on the Mountaineer Area Council, Executive Board. She has served on the Visiting Committee for the WVU Davis College and Interior Design Advisory Board. Currently serves as a visiting committee member for the CCAM and as an Advisory Board member for Interior Architecture. Alexis has also taught 3 classes in the program as an Adjunct Professor. She has been a leader and member of the GFWC (General Federation of Woman’s Clubs) WV Juniors and Bridgeport Juniors for 30 years and has been involved in Harrison County 4H.
