Harp Audition Requirements

School of Music harp applicants should be prepared to present the following at their audition:

Performance

  • One etude such as Pizzoli, Grossi, LaRiviere, Bochsa, Salzedo etc.
  • A movement from a standard concerto (and work of equivalent difficulty) and another work from a contrasting stylistic period (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, or 20th Century or 21st Century).
  • One standard orchestral excerpt or cadenza.

Music Education, MusicTherapy, Music and Health, Bachelor of Arts, or Composition

  • Two contrasting works from two different stylistic periods (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, or 20th Century or 21st Century). Selections could include individual movements from a concerto, sonata, or suite. Please contact Prof. Blair to discuss appropriate repertoire.
  • One standard orchestral excerpt or cadenza.

Music Industry, Commercial Music

  • Two contrasting selections of music that represent the applicant’s current level of performance.
