The steps to transfer into the WVU School of Music must occur in order. They apply to any student who has graduated from high school and is attending or has attended WVU or another postsecondary institution.
-
Apply to West Virginia University
If transferring from another college or university, you must complete WVU's online application.
If transferring from another major at WVU, you do not need to reapply. Schedule an appointment with your current advisor who can help initiate the transfer.
-
Request Official Transcripts
If transferring from another college or university, you must request official transcripts from all institutions you have attended. If applying with fewer than 24 transferrable credits, you must also send your final high school transcript.
This step does not apply if transferring from another major at WVU.
-
Audition
You must successfully audition on your principal performance medium for appropriate Music faculty for admission to the School of Music. It is recommended that you schedule your audition before the middle of the semester prior to your admission to the School of Music. Schedule Your Audition.
-
Meet with Your School of Music Advisor
Following a successful application and audition, you will be contacted by a School of Music advisor to discuss next steps and your course schedule.
