All new School of Music Graduate Assistants (note: all SOM Graduate Assistantships are Graduate Teaching Assistantships/GTAs):
- If you are a new Graduate Teaching Assistant for academic year 2023-2024, contact the College of Creative Arts Business Office to process for payroll before August 1. Please email Sean Beatty in the College of Creative Arts Business Office to initiate this process Sean.Beatty@mail.wvu.edu; Sean will provide information on processing for payroll. You will need your social security card or passport and a voided check or deposit slip for direct deposit of pay. If you are an International Student you must apply for a social security card and set up a bank account before payroll processing. If you have questions, contact Sean.
Please start this process before August 1. If you cannot complete the payroll onboarding on time, your first paycheck may be late.
- New Graduate Teaching Assistants will have a required teaching workshop with Dr. Gossett on Monday August 14 at 1:00pm in Room 4129.
- New Graduate Teaching Assistants must complete the training modules offered by WVU before the start of the semester and attend the online orientation session on Friday August 11, 9:30am-2:30pm (includes a break for lunch and several shorter breaks) .
