Most majors and graduate degree programs in the WVU School of Music require an application and audition, but the process is simple and we'll guide you every step of the way. Plus, there are plenty of opportunities for you to start your WVU music journey while in middle or high school.

Ensembles

WVU student performing groups include a wide range of opportunities in a variety of musical traditions and styles - from world music to the WVU Marching Band. The student and community performing groups are open to all qualified WVU students by audition.

School of Music in the Community

The School of Music offers a variety of classes, camps, academies and music programs for K-12 students and musicians in our community.

Morgantown Community Orchestra

Membership for the MCO is open to everyone from youth to non-music and music major collegiate students to adults and senior citizens throughout the greater-Morgantown community or other counties of the state.

Summer Choir Camp

Our Summer Choir Camp promises a wholesome musical experience of singing, playing, and forging new friendships. During this 5-day camp, your child will be exposed to the wonder of the choral world and learn how to use their voice in an environment that provides a sense of community and teamwork through practice and a final performance to celebrate.

Community Music Program

The Community Music Program at West Virginia University aims to provide high-quality musical training to individuals of all ages and levels in Morgantown, WV, and the surrounding region. The program welcomes children, families, the amateur performer, enlightened listener, professional musician, young talent, and committed high-school students who wish to advance and master their craft.
