About

The School of Art & Design is recognized as a leader in the education, creative development and growth of artists, designers, educators, entrepreneurs, museum staff, and researchers in the visual art and design professions.

West Virginia University is an exceptional place to study the art and design. It is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and the School’s degree programs are regularly evaluated to assure they are meeting these national standards.

A lively environment in studios in the Canady Creative Arts Center, a classroom at the Art Museum of WVU, and a variety of buildings across the Evansdale campus encourages creative growth and intellectual challenge. With the rapidly changing nature of visual culture in mind, the faculty are integrating emerging technologies and sustainable practices into their course work, establishing national and international connections for study abroad and internship experiences, and expanding curriculum to best prepare students for future careers in the expanding art and design professions.
