Students in all School of Art & Design majors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher are eligible to apply for merit scholarships. These scholarships range from $500 up to the cost of university tuition and are granted based on academic record and creative merit as determined by the WVU School of Art & Design Scholarship Committee.

All majors will submit an application digitally through SlideRoom. Your digital portfolio should include a selection that best represents your accomplishments produced for your major. This might include images of creative art and/or design projects and/or time-based work. Majors in Art History & Museum Professions, Art Therapy, and the Fashion Merchandising area of emphasis should include discipline-appropriate writing samples and other evidence of scholarship such as research papers, visual analyses, and museum exhibition or marketing plans. All students should include a written personal statement discussing their creative and/or research work and goals as a School of Art & Design major at WVU.
