Brass Ensemble

This ensemble explores repertoire that is performed by traditional British brass bands, brass chamber selections, popular music, and contemporary music.

Children's Choir

The CMP Children's Choir is a class designed to give children their first exposure to the choral world and promises a wholesome musical experience of singing, playing, and forging new friendships.

Community African Ensemble

This experiential ensemble will expose students to various African instruments, the playing style and technique of the instruments, andmusical styles associated with them.

Community Percussion Ensemble

The percussion ensemble focuses on continuous development of performers and meeting students where they are to foster growth and achieve a variety of repertoire.

Community Steel Drum Band

This class and ensemble focuses on the music and culture of Trinidad through the playing of steel pan.

Jazz Style and Improvisation

The class will combine lecture-style instruction with hands-on learning experiences. Students will gain a fundamental understanding of jazz harmony, technique, theory, history, and style.

Morgantown Community Band

The Morgantown Community Band (MCB) is a new wind band ensemble of the Community Music Program at West Virginia University.

Morgantown Community Orchestra

The Morgantown Community Orchestra (MCO) is the largest music ensemble of the Community Music Program at West Virginia University having reached 55 musicians in January 2023, the largest it has been in over a decade.

Piano for Fun for Adults

Piano for Fun is designed for adult students who are interested in playing the piano for their own enjoyment. Lessons are taught in a group setting, enabling students to experience the fun and incentive of learning together with others.

Piano for Tiny Musicians

Two separate sessions for ages 4-6 and 7-9, this group class is meant to introduce tiny pianists to the art of playing the piano, in a fun and engaging environment for kids that are just now beginning to learn music.

String Chamber Music Ensemble

String Chamber Music Ensemble participants will play in weekly rehearsals under the direction of the instructor as appropriate for their skill level. Participants will build individual and ensemble performance skills, as well as interpersonal skills, through the repertoire preparation process.

Woodwind Chamber Music

Students who play flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon and their auxiliary instruments, will enhance their individual and ensemble performance skills and watch their connection to music become stronger through the repertoire preparation process.

Youth Strings

Beginner adults and young string players in elementary and middle school may register separately for beginner lessons to be held at the same time as Morgantown Community Orchestra.
