The WVU Choral Program has a choir for everyone - students, faculty, staff and local community members. Regardless of your background or level of experience, there is a place for you to sing at WVU.
WVU Choirs regularly collaborate with the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra for performances of major works. Student members of all choirs also have the opportunity to sing with Collegiate Honor Choirs and to participate in state and national choral events.

Audition and Rehearsal Information
Choir is an option for non-majors. To apply for major acceptance in the School of Music, auditions are required. All music majors registered for voice lessons are required to signup for a choir audition/placement. The audition will include learning a short excerpt of a set piece as well as completing some sight-reading, rhythm, and tonal memory exercises. For the set piece, please learn whichever part best suits your voice.
Auditions will take place August 17 and 18. For Fall 2026 auditions, please prepare the audition excerpt found at the link below. During the audition, you will be asked to sing your part while listening to the other parts played on the piano.
For any questions, please contact Dr. Kym Scott, Director of Choral Activities.
