Choirs

Audition and Rehearsal Information

Choir is an option for non-majors. To apply for major acceptance in the School of Music, auditions are required. All music majors registered for voice lessons are required to sign up for a choir audition/placement. The audition will include learning a short excerpt of a set piece as well as completing some sight-reading, rhythm, and tonal memory exercises. For the set piece, please learn whichever part best suits your voice. During the audition, you will be asked to sing a section of the piece while additional voice parts will be played on piano.

For Fall 2024 auditions, please prepare your own voice part for “Mother of God, Here I Stand”.
