Brass and Woodwind Maintenance and Repair Workshop

This week-long, hands-on workshop is designed for Band Directors and Music Teachers who want to develop valuable skills in using preventive maintenance, diagnosing common repair issues and make time and money saving repairs on brass and woodwind instruments.

Community Music Program

The Community Music Program at West Virginia University aims to provide high-quality musical training to individuals of all ages and levels in Morgantown, WV, and the surrounding region. The program welcomes children, families, the amateur performer, enlightened listener, professional musician, young talent, and committed high-school students who wish to advance and master their craft.

Creativity Academy

The College of Creative Arts and Media is offering a series of weekday matinee performances, open to all grades and ages from public schools, private schools and homeschool groups. The performances provide an opportunity to enhance school curriculum and to expose students to the arts.

Media Camp

WVU Media Camp is a summer program for high school students to participate in workshops to enhance their communication, photography, video and journalism skills.

Smithsonian Folkways Certificate Course in World Music Pedagogy

Join music educators, ethnomusicologists, and guest artists for this year’s in-person professional development course celebrating local and global culture. Participants will engage with music in daily workshops featuring music traditions of Appalachia, West Africa, Northeast Brazil, and Trinidad.

String Chamber Music Intensive

During this five-day intensive, students will be assigned to a chamber music group to learn a work of chamber music, culminating in a public performance.

Summer Acting Academy is a one-week professional theatre training program for young actors who wish to explore and develop their skills in all areas of performance.

Summer Brass Academy

This week-long brass camp is designed to help young brass musicians develop technical ability, interpretive skills, and increase their understanding of a variety of genres and musical styles through masterclasses, private practice time, and individual lessons.

Summer Choir Camp

Our Summer Choir Camp promises a wholesome musical experience of singing, playing, and forging new friendships. During this 5-day camp, your child will be exposed to the wonder of the choral world and learn how to use their voice in an environment that provides a sense of community and teamwork through practice and a final performance to celebrate.

Summer Dance Academy

2025 WVU Summer Dance Academy is July 6 – 12 with the Paul Taylor Dance Company Summer Dance Intensive.

Summer Harp Academy

The WVU Summer Harp Academy is a two day harp intensive designed for harpists of all levels - both lever and pedal harpists are welcome! This inclusive program features individual lessons, workshops on effective practice techniques, harp ensemble rehearsals, and private practice time. The WVU Summer Harp Academy culminates in a final performance for family and friends.

Laura and Paul Mesaros Galleries

The Mesaros Galleries serve to educate students, faculty, and staff across the university as well as the larger Morgantown community, with special emphasis on art majors and students of art history. Exhibitions focus on innovative, experimental art that advances scholarship and discourse in the field.
