Mountain Stage brings Don Was and the Pan-Detroit Ensemble, Vienna Teng, Joe Crookston, William Matheny and more to the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre on Jan. 18 at 7 p.m.

“Chicago” is back in Morgantown and is still the one musical with everything that makes Broadway shimmy-shake: a universal tale of fame, fortune and all that jazz, with one show stopping song after another and the most astonishing dancing you’ve ever seen. “Chicago” comes to the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre at the WVU Canady Creative Arts Center on Jan. 13 at 7:30 p.m.

“Celebration of Dance” is a student-led performance, where junior and senior Dance majors can choreograph their own pieces and manage the casting and rehearsals. The performances are typically held in late October or early November in the Antoinette E. Falbo Theatre in the WVU Canady Creative Arts Center. Guest adjudicators judge and rank the student-choreographed pieces and provide input to the WVU Dance faculty, who select five to 10 to be performed as part of “Dance Now!” in February.

When WVU Soccer takes on Marshall, it’s the Mountain State Derby—a different kind of brawl between the state’s top two Division I soccer teams. During the Nov. 12 WVU men’s soccer game versus Marshall, fans watching on ESPN+ were treated to a special feature by WVU Sports and Adventure Media student Logan Callender.

The WVU Clay Club’s winter pottery sale will take place Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Douglas O. Blaney Lobby of the WVU Canady Creative Center. Proceeds from the sale benefit WVU Clay Club members and ceramics students, helping to pay for club activities, visiting artists, attendance to the annual National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) conference and even the Ceramics in China Study Abroad program.

Then, on Dec. 7 at 4:30 p.m., the “Pride of West Virginia” Mountaineer Marching Band will perform its annual Keynotes Concert at the Hope Coliseum.
