West Virginia University Fashion Design and Merchandising (FDM) students and faculty will be represented at the 2026 International Textile and Apparel Association (ITAA) Conference, with five undergraduate student designs and three faculty/professional designs accepted for exhibition.

The largest collection of artworks by West Virginia University alum Blanche Lazzell, a Monongalia County native and pioneer of early American modernism, is coming back home to the Art Museum of WVU as its largest exhibition ever.

Olivia Martens showed up at the Ruby Amphitheater in Morgantown’s Hazel Ruby McQuain Park at 10 a.m. sharp. It was July 17, 2026, and Martens, a student in the West Virginia University Music Business and Industry Program from Red Hook, New York, had arrived to set up for Switchfoot, a rock band known for its worship music, and Hello June, a West Virginia-based indie band.

The WVU School of Theatre and Dance’s 2026-27 season includes musicals, comedic plays and dance performances featuring current students as actors, dancers, scene and costume designers, sound and lighting technicians, choreographers and stage managers.

Alison Smallwood, a Sports and Adventure Media major in the WVU Reed School of Media and Communications, was recognized with a digital media award at the 51st Gracie Awards for her “Mountaineer Playbook” segment “3-in-30.”

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago brings world-class talent and choreography to the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre at the WVU Canady Creative Arts Center Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
